At one of our new high-tech fulfillment centers, technology is making life better for Lisa.
Meet Lisa Espinosa. She says her job at Walmart's newest high-tech fulfillment center (FC) DFW-5 in Lancaster, Texas, is “life-changing!”
Lisa started her career with Walmart in May 2020. She was working at a conventional fulfillment center (FC), she learned the traditional methods of picking and packing products.
Two months later, Lisa transferred to Walmart’s new high-tech facility, which she describes as a life-changing experience.
“I’m amazed at how this technology has personally benefited me. Having an ergonomic platform which raises and lowers helps me easily handle heavy items like dog food,” Lisa shares. “Previously, I would have to walk to the item, pick it up and maneuver totes to put it in — it would quickly become a very strenuous task. Now, the work comes to me, and I can quickly drop items in the tote, and then it moves on to the next step. It’s truly game changing!”
She says the step-by-step process is simple to follow. “If you can follow instructions, you can do this job. It’s the easiest thing I’ve ever done!”
Career growth and ongoing learning opportunities are other parts of her job she’s grateful for. “I’m always learning, and I’m never bored. There’s a lot of opportunity for advancement,” Lisa says.
Lisa is excited to see more people transferring from her previous facility — growing what she calls the “big family” atmosphere at her current FC.
“Walmart has provided me with a place to express my true self and explore my interests,” Lisa concludes.
